After one day of CS, a few things are obvious.  1) This will work.  2) 24 hours is not enough time. 3) The paint comes off in a thick sludge.  4) The primer under this light yellow paint job is white.

In addition to being a sludge, the stuff that comes off the guitar will create quite a mess if you are not careful.  Gloves should be considered a requirement for using this stuff.  I used latex surgical gloves because they work best for me.

I do have one question.  As you can see from the pic below, there is a wire that has been disconnected from what I assume is a grounding plate.  OK.  But where does that wire go to?  Can anybody help me with that?

The CS took all the finish off.  It really does take few days to work.  At this point, the wood is still wet from mineral spirits used to clean off the CS.  But I did not see any grain in the wood.  So I think that my idea of veneering on something is what I am going to do.  Then doing a black burst for the back & sides just over the edge of the veneer.

After using the scraper and some cotton towels to get the sludge off, I wiped the body off with mineral spirits, per the instructions. Boy, does that stuff smell.  So I hung it up to dry.
